Client Service

Tom Nolan, Mike Armstrong and Dan Barton are all California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization, Certified Specialists in Criminal Law.  Together they have over 80 years of experience in criminal defense practices in the Palo Alto, San Jose, and Redwood City courts and in the federal courts in the Northern District of California.  All of the attorneys at Nolan, Armstrong & Barton specialize in criminal defense.

We are available to clients and other attorneys 24 hours a day.  We handle misdemeanors and felonies of all levels of complexity, from highly complex white collar, trade secret, and homicide cases to simpler narcotics, domestic violence and DUI prosecutions.  Two of the attorneys speak fluent Spanish.

Even before an individual is actually charged, we can help him or her assess the situation, interact with law enforcement, and decide on the best course of action.  Dealing with an accusation or arrest can be painful and frightening for our clients and their families.  Working in conjunction with skilled medical and legal professionals, we do everything we can to help our clients through this difficult experience.

We treat every case in our office as absolutely confidential.  We do not disclose information about our cases, or even the names of our clients without their permission.  When appropriate, we request that sensitive documents be sealed and that the press be excluded from the courtroom.

Referrals and Advice

Nolan, Armstrong & Barton, LLP does not advertise; we rely upon referrals from former clients and from members of the legal community.

The members of our firm have worked with criminal defense attorneys across the country. We can knowledgeably provide referrals for those who need out-of-state representation.

In addition, we are always available to assist attorneys who are concerned about their clients' potential criminal liability, whose clients are facing a criminal accusation, or who simply have a question they need answered.
